The convoy of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has been attacked by some hoodlums in Oba Akoko, Ondo State, on Wednesday.
A statement posted on Wednesday afternoon on the facebook page of Akeredolu’s Special Assistant on new media, Olabode Richard Olatunde, said the convoy of his principal was attacked at Oba Akoko in Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of the state.
Olatunde claimed the hoodlums are supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.
According to him, Akeredolu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train was on the way to Ikare-Akoko in continuation of the local government campaign rally “when the PDP struck and attacked the convoy of the campaign train.”
He disclosed that branded campaign vehicle donated to Akeredolu campaign by Ambassador Sola Iji has been set ablaze by the PDP hoodlums.
The media assistant added: “The driver of the vehicle sustained bodily injury and now receiving treatment at a government hospital.”
The PDP and Jegede are yet to react to the allegation.
