Nollywood filmmaker, Emeka Amakeze has said that Nigerian civil servants are the most corrupt set of people in the nation.
Amakeze made this known in a recent post on social media where he opined that contrary to popular opinion, politicians are not the most corrupt people in Nigeria,
He argued that politicians’ involvement in corrupt practices is usually easily noticed by the people because of their flamboyant lifestyles.
“Politicians may take the shine because of their flamboyant lifestyles but nobody beats civil servants in the race for title of the most corrupt,” he wrote.
It was not immediately clear what informed his post.

His comment, however, may not be unconnected to the recent happenings in the country triggered by the #EndSARS protest.
The #EndSARS protest started as a campaign against misconducts of the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) and expanded focus to overall police reform.
Amid the protest, some Nigerians also called for a comprehensive improvement in the country by highlighting several demands including a reduction in the cost of governance.
The renewed call began on Saturday, October 3, 2020, following unconfirmed reports that men of SARS shot a boy in Ughelli town of Delta States and made away with his SUV.
Recall that several Nollywood stars have lent their voices to the #ENDSARS protests which have taken the nation by storm.
Over the weekend, actress, Rita Dominic echoed along the lines of Amakeze’s thoughts.
Condemned the government’s approach to the recent unrest in the country, the actress called out those taking sides with “perpetrators of evil” in Nigeria.
According to her, conscience, integrity and humanity should override the quest for money, status, employment and power.
She tweeted, “At some point it has to be about your conscience, your integrity, your humanity, your own beliefs. If you work for and with perpetrators of evil, money, status, employment and power cannot wash you clean.”
Recall that earlier this month, Buhari had come out to announce the disbanding of SARS and further assure Nigerians that erring officers in the police will be prosecuted in line with efforts to reform the security agency.
“I will like to use this opportunity to say a word on the recent genuine concerns and agitations by Nigerians about the excessive use of force and in some cases extra-judicial killings and wrongful conduct of the men of the Nigerian Police Force,’’ Femi Adesina, his spokesman, quoted him as saying via a statement.
“The disbanding of SARS is only the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms in order to ensure that the primary duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies remains the protection of lives and livelihood of our people.
However, recent reports have it that the dreaded police unit are back on the streets.
