Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodimma has launched twelve new trucks for effective waste disposal in Owerri, Imo state capital.
The target is to make Owerri the cleanest City in Nigeria.
In an effort to fulfill his campaign promises to the people of Imo State, Governor Uzodinma has launched twelve new Refuse Disposal Trucks and over ten thousand waste bin for effective environmental sanitation in the state.
At the Heroes Square, Owerri,
Uzodinma explained that the initiative is targeted towards attracting investors.
The Governor also urged residents to develop the right attitude in waste management.
The Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Sanitation, Elias Emedom thanked the Governor, promising that the relevant authorities would put the facilities into good use.
The governor later reminded residents of the axiom, “cleanliness is next to godliness.”
