Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to begin nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel, offering free delivery to large-scale buyers starting from August 15, 2025.
The Dangote refinery disclosed in a statement released to the press on Sunday. This initiative targets major fuel marketers, petrol station operators, manufacturers, telecom companies, aviation players, and other heavy users of petroleum products across Nigeria. Dangote Refinery will shoulder the logistics cost to strengthen nationwide fuel distribution and ensure efficient supply.
To support this bold initiative, the company has acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, with plans to gradually scale operations. Additionally, it is setting up CNG stations, known as daughter booster stations, supported by a dedicated fleet of over 100 CNG tankers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products nationwide.
“This initiative reflects our broader commitment to eliminating distribution challenges, boosting energy efficiency, advancing sustainability, and contributing to Nigeria’s economic transformation,” the refinery said. “By absorbing logistics costs, we aim to make fuel more affordable and accessible across the country.”
All fuel stations purchasing from Dangote Refinery will benefit from the free delivery, and key sectors such as manufacturing and telecommunications are expected to see reduced production costs, which could translate into lower inflation and increased economic productivity.
The company also revealed a special credit facility for bulk buyers, stating that any customer purchasing 500,000 litres of fuel will be eligible to receive another 500,000 litres on credit, valid for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.
“This bold step is part of our mission to revolutionise Nigeria’s energy landscape. We are committed to ensuring that no community is left behind in accessing affordable energy,” the statement added. “This move is expected to revive dormant petrol stations, create jobs, support SMEs, increase government revenue, improve rural fuel access, and enhance investor confidence in the downstream sector.”
Dangote Refinery said the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, commending the Federal Government’s support through the Naira-for-Crude exchange programme, which has played a role in stabilising local fuel supply amidst global volatility.
“We invite all stakeholders—marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom operators and others—to take advantage of this historic opportunity. KYC registration will run from June 16 to August 15,” the statement said.
