The Lagos State Police Command is currently interrogating Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, following the circulation of a viral video showing him allegedly holding a firearm during an encounter on a Lagos road.

The pastor presented himself at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja on Saturday. The video, which went viral on Friday, was reportedly recorded by a Lagos-based content creator known for showcasing luxury vehicles and posted by an X (formerly Twitter) user.

Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development to news sources stating that: “No one is above the law. Pastor Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives.”

Hundeyin added that the police have launched a formal investigation into the incident. The probe is centered around a video that allegedly shows Adefarasin pointing a gun-like object at another road user while in an unregistered vehicle.“

The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” he assured.

According to later reports, it was said that after the investigation, the gun turned out to be a stun gun, which Adefarasin supposedly pointed at the”aggressive” content creator, filming him relentlessly.

In a statement addressed to his congregation and shared on his social media handles, Pastor Adefarasin denied brandishing a firearm. He clarified that the object seen in the footage was not a real weapon and maintained that he did not aim it at anyone.

The incident has sparked widespread conversation online, raising questions about public conduct and firearm possession laws.
