Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has issued a public apology to his wife, Natasha Osarawu, following widespread backlash over his recent controversial remarks on male fidelity.
In a podcast interview with media personality Nedu, 2Baba claimed that men are “not wired” to be sexually faithful to one woman, a statement that sparked an uproar on social media and reignited debates about gender expectations, biology, and marital responsibility.
The comment came shortly after his recent marriage to Natasha, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, tarnishing the mood of their honeymoon and drawing criticism from fans, feminists, and even fellow entertainers. In a viral video posted after the interview, 2Baba appeared visibly emotional and contrite, saying:
“I know I fvcked up with what I said, and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it. I apologise to my fans and most importantly, my wife, the love of my life, Natasha, and also my kids. I’m terribly sorry. That’s not who I am.”

He added that his words did not reflect his true beliefs and urged fans to judge him more by his music and actions than by a moment of poor judgment. He described the statement as “not legendary”, admitting that he had let people down and that the backlash was deserved.
The apology has triggered mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians defended him for voicing what they see as a “biological truth,” others lambasted him for insensitivity, irresponsibility, and casting a shadow over his new marriage so soon.
The incident has also reignited broader national discussions around monogamy, male accountability, celebrity influence, and public image.
As one of Nigeria’s most respected entertainers, 2Baba’s comments and the sincerity of his apology, have become a trending topic, illustrating the delicate balance public figures must strike between personal expression and social responsibility.
Whether the apology will be enough to restore public confidence, or mend fences at home, remains uncertain.
