The Federal Government, through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), has temporarily suspended access to its recruitment application portal due to ongoing technical issues and security concerns.

In an official announcement posted on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, the Board stated that the portal (https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025.

The statement, signed by Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (rtd), Secretary to the Board, reads:

“As part of efforts to optimize the efficiency of its system, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announces that the portal has been temporarily suspended.”

The board explained that the move was necessary to manage the high volume of applications and to ensure a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.

The portal’s suspension follows multiple complaints from applicants who experienced access failures, glitches, and raised security concerns when the portal reopened on July 14 after an earlier delay from the original June 26 start date.

Although the CDCFIB did not disclose the specific nature of the technical and security challenges, it assured applicants that a resolution is underway and reaffirmed its commitment to fairness and integrity in the recruitment process.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the Board added.

The recruitment is for positions in four key paramilitary agencies: Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

With millions of applications expected nationwide, the delay has heightened anxiety among job seekers.

Applicants are advised to remain patient and monitor official communication channels for updates before the portal’s new reopening date.
