The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has put a 6 months ban on Nigerian Fuji Star King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate. This ban is coming after an altercation with two ValueJet Pilots at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday 5th August.

In a press briefing, ‎The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, mentioned the development as part of an ongoing investigation into the issue.

‎“What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book.‎‎

“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria, he said.‎‎

“So, we will do everything we can to get to the root of it. Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice.” he added.

It was reported that On Monday, Ayinde Marshal had been part of the passengers to board the Value Jet flight to Lagos. During pre-flight checkings, it was allegedly noticed that he had a flask containing an unknown substance, which the flight attendants claimed to be alcohol; a product banned on Nigerian flights.

It was further reported that neither the flight attendants nor the pilots could cajole the Fuji Artiste to let go of the flask, as he insisted that it contained a doctor’s prescription. While medically cleared substances were allowed on flights, the flight attendants said that he had no prior or official clearance to proceed with his flask.

As the altercation continued, it was said that the Music Star splashed some content of the bottle on the flight attendants. In a now circulating video on social media, KWAM 1 was seen in front of the aircraft, in the midst of some other people preventing it from taking off.

The pilots started the already boarded flight, causing the musician and others around the aircraft to flee from its wings to safety.

The two pilots involved have since been suspended from their duties for breaching safety protocols, while FAAN and NCAA continued further investigation into the altercation.

Speaking on behalf of the NCAA, Michael Achimugu emphasised that everyone involved in the case will be brought to book regardless of political affiliations.
