The offer of a ₦500,000-a-month job and VIP treatment to Comfort Emmanson, the woman at the centre of the viral Ibom Air incident, has sparked sharp criticism online—this time directed at Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Ossai had publicly invited Emmanson to attend the Delta Social Media Summit in Asaba on August 28, promising an all-expenses-paid trip, a five-star hotel stay, a full tour of the state, and a lucrative job. He framed the gesture as an act of compassion and opportunity.
However, not all reactions have been positive. One X user blasted the aide, questioning why such generosity was extended to a non-Deltan and suggesting the viral nature of her clash with Ibom Air staff, during which she was partly stripped, may have influenced the offer.
“I’m deeply disappointed in the SSA… are all young women in Delta State employed? How many has he ever gotten a job for before now?” @fattylincorn_01 wrote While some view the invitation as a lifeline for Emmanson following her controversial detention in Kirikiri, others dismiss it as misplaced priority and a publicity stunt.
As of press time, Emmanson has yet to respond publicly.
