The Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (Gomo II), has passed away. He died in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025, at about 4:15 am in London, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

The late monarch, who reigned over Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State, was widely respected as a noble leader and custodian of tradition.

Reacting to the sad development, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah described the Emir as a leader who served his people with distinction and left behind enduring legacies for Zuru Emirate, Kebbi State, and Nigeria at large.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. May Allah forgive the Emir of Zuru and grant him Aljannah as his final abode,” Na’Allah said.

He further prayed that Almighty Allah grant the family of the late monarch and the entire people of Zuru Emirate the strength to bear the huge loss.
