NNPC Limited has announced the appointment of two seasoned professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, into top corporate leadership roles. Mr. Odeh has been named Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi will serve as Chief Relations Officer.

Mr. Odeh, who brings over 30 years of diverse experience in communications, advertising, oil and gas, and broadcasting, previously enjoyed a distinguished 26-year career at Nigeria LNG (NLNG). During his time at NLNG, he held several senior positions in areas such as community relations and development, business logistics, corporate communications, public affairs, government relations, and regulatory compliance. He rose to the position of General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development before leaving the company.

Known for spearheading major public relations and advertising campaigns, Mr. Odeh played a pivotal role in NLNG’s rebranding, launched a highly successful micro-credit scheme for host communities, and helped establish the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Mrs. Adewunmi, a legal practitioner with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, is widely respected for her expertise in stakeholder management and advocacy. She spent most of her career at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she excelled in regulatory affairs and government relations.

At Shell, she held key positions including Regulatory Affairs Manager, where she managed all statutory engagements and permits, and Government Relations Manager, where she built and sustained strategic relationships with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and agencies. Known for her strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and ability to build trusted networks, she is also a subject matter expert on non-technical risks. Mrs. Adewunmi studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.

The appointments, according to NNPC Limited, underscore its commitment to strengthening communications and deepening engagement with stakeholders across the oil and gas sector.
