A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Upper Area Court in Kado, Abuja, has perpetually restrained Hadiza Musa Baffa from claiming that former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, is the biological father of her child.

In a ruling delivered on September 4, 2025, Presiding Judge Hon. Adamu Isah dismissed a DNA result presented by Baffa, holding that such evidence cannot be relied upon under Islamic law to determine the paternity of a child born outside wedlock.

The court granted a perpetual injunction barring Baffa from attributing the child to Turaki or publishing any content in traditional or social media suggesting otherwise.

Meanwhile, Turaki has moved to clear his name of allegations of rape, ritual activities, and fraud made against him by Baffa. The former minister dismissed the claims as “falsehoods, contradictions, and unfounded blackmail attempts.”

At a press briefing in Abuja, Turaki’s lawyer, Abdulaziz Ibrahim, SAN, said the allegations lacked substance and were contradicted by verifiable court judgments, certified police records, and official petitions. He added that Baffa had repeatedly withdrawn her petitions, issued apologies, and contradicted herself in sworn statements.

Ibrahim further noted that investigations revealed Baffa’s involvement in several fraudulent activities, including forgery of ECOWAS and law firm ID cards, fake forex and Instagram rental scams, and the production of a forged university certificate.

He also cited police and hospital records which, according to him, disproved Baffa’s claims of rape and rituals, showing instead that she was treated for drug misuse and miscarriages.

The lawyer revealed that Baffa and her father admitted in writing that one Saidu Mohammed Mainasara orchestrated the blackmail campaign against Turaki. He alleged that Baffa later attempted to extort his client with demands running into hundreds of millions of naira, alongside requests for a luxury home in Maitama or Asokoro.

“All these facts are documented. The truth is public, the courts have spoken, and police records are clear. Her ongoing online smear campaign is nothing more than a desperate attempt to extort money from our client,” Ibrahim said.

Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former presidential aspirant, has urged the public to disregard Baffa’s allegations, insisting that both the courts and law enforcement have cleared his name.
