Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Friday made a long-awaited return to the state following the lifting of the six-month state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu.
At exactly 11:50 a.m., the aircraft carrying the governor touched down at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, ending days of speculation over his whereabouts.
Fubara was warmly received by a crowd of former public office holders, commissioners, union leaders, friends, supporters, and well-wishers who gathered at the airport to welcome him back to Rivers State.
His return comes two days after President Tinubu officially announced the end of emergency rule, paving the way for the restoration of democratic governance in the state.
