Nigeria’s business community is mourning the passing of Olorogun Oskar Ibru, billionaire industrialist and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, who died at the age of 67.
His family confirmed that he passed away after a brief illness, though details of the circumstances were not disclosed.
A key figure in Nigeria’s corporate landscape, Ibru was one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty and played a central role in sustaining and expanding the family’s vast conglomerate, which spans shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
Under his leadership, the Ibru Organisation remained a major source of employment and investment while also supporting philanthropic and cultural projects.
OskarIbru’s death comes just years after the passing of the family patriarch, Olorogun Michael Ibru, in 2016. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
