The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has once again increased the pump price of petrol, with consumers in Lagos now paying ₦992 per litre and those in Abuja paying ₦955 per litre.

Checks by TheCable on Monday revealed that the new prices had already taken effect across several NNPC retail outlets in both cities.

The latest adjustment represents a ₦127 increase in Lagos, up from ₦865 per litre, and a ₦65 increase in Abuja, up from ₦890 per litre.

At the NNPC filling station in Ago Palace Way, Lagos, petrol was sold for ₦992 per litre, while in Abuja, motorists at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Kubwa, and Komolafe Road, Lugbe, purchased fuel at ₦955 per litre.

This development comes barely two months after NNPC announced a downward review on August 15, which saw petrol prices drop to ₦865 in Lagos and ₦890 in Abuja.

The new increase has triggered fresh concerns among Nigerians already grappling with rising living costs and inflation. NNPC is yet to issue an official statement explaining the reason for the latest price adjustment.
