Terrorists in the early hours of Monday stormed the Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting an unspecified number of female students and killing at least one staff member.

The attackers struck at about 5:52 a.m., opening fire as students prepared for their morning routines. A school guard was also injured during the assault, which eyewitnesses described as sudden and chaotic. According to HumAngle, the gunmen invaded the compound and began shooting sporadically before whisking away several students.

Residents who spoke after the attack said the terrorists “have not gone far” and called on both the Federal and Kebbi State governments to take swift action to rescue the abducted girls.

The incident comes just hours after SaharaReporters reported another deadly attack — this time in Kwara State — where terrorists killed two security operatives in Rogun Village, Kpada District of Patigi Local Government Area.

A security source told SaharaReporters that the attackers, commonly referred to as bandits, stormed the police outpost in Rogun late Sunday night and opened fire on officers on duty. The gun duel lasted several minutes, but by the time the shooting ended, a police constabulary and a vigilante officer had been confirmed dead.

Both attacks have heightened concerns over rising insecurity across the North and renewed calls for urgent government intervention.
