A former Kogi state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has passed on.
Idris died on Sunday September 20, 2026, in the United Kingdom at the age of 77.
Though details regarding the latest development is still sketchy, family sources said Idris had suffered protracted illness.
Meanwhile, incumbent Kogi state governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has condoled the family of the former governor.
In his condolence message, Ododo described the late lawmaker as a man who had made meaningful contributions in politics and business.
The governor also recalled his last meeting with Mohammed in March 2024 during a visit involving political stakeholders from Omala Local Government Area.
