German authorities deported at least 137 Nigerian nationals in five separate chartered flights between February and June 2026, according to migration monitoring reports.
Data compiled by the DERS Team and Refugees4refugees.org showed that the deportations were carried out in monthly operations during the five-month period, with the number of Nigerians returned varying from one month to another.
The figures indicate that 27 Nigerians were deported in February, followed by 37 in March. Another 24 were returned in April, while 23 were deported in May and 26 in June.
The February operation originated from Stuttgart and ended at Lagos Cargo Airport, with Germany’s Baden-Württemberg region identified as one of the key authorities involved in the exercise.
March recorded the largest number of Nigerian deportees during the period, with 37 people returned in a single operation. The exercise was reportedly carried out as a coordinated European Union operation involving Spain, Austria and Belgium.
The monitoring reports indicate that the repeated deployment of chartered flights forms part of broader European efforts to coordinate the repatriation of undocumented migrants and other individuals without legal residency status.
The deportations underscore the continued enforcement of immigration and residency regulations by European authorities and the return of Nigerian nationals through organised repatriation operations.
