A Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has heard details of how popular social media influencer, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, allegedly defrauded a client of N69,150,000 under the guise of leasing out a property she did not own.
In an update shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed that the continuation of the trial took place on Monday, October 12, 2026, before Justice R. A. Oshodi.
During the proceedings, the first prosecution witness (PW1), Dr. Onuoha Okeigwe, testified about how he paid the sum for a five-year lease on a property located at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos.
The anti-graft agency, through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, had previously arraigned the controversial relationship expert on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
According to the charge read in court, Blessing CEO, on or about March 21, 2025, allegedly induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to confer a benefit of N69.15 million on her by falsely claiming ownership of the Lekki property a representation the prosecution noted she knew was false.
The alleged offence violates Section 1(2) and is punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act. Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Testifying before the court, Dr. Okeigwe detailed the ordeal that followed the transaction, revealing that trouble started after he contacted the defendant regarding ownership issues, but she dismissed his concerns.
He narrated how a man identified as Mr. Tom subsequently arrived at the site accompanied by police officers and arrested some of his workers.
“I informed the defendant, and she claimed she did not know Mr. Tom. I paid N100,000 to secure the release of my workers. Blessing still maintained that she did not know Mr. Tom and that she was the owner of the property,” Dr. Okeigwe testified.
The witness presented WhatsApp messages to the court showing photographs sent by the influencer as proof of her alleged ownership. He added that he paid additional sums covering agency, legal, and caution fees directly to her.
Dr. Okeigwe maintained that despite receiving the N69.15 million, Blessing CEO was not the rightful owner of the property. He further alleged that the influencer went as far as collecting money from another victim for the exact same property.
Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter for the continuation of trial.
