The Federal Government has approved the reopening of the 47 unity schools that were earlier closed over security threats across parts of the country.

The Ministry of Education disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, explaining that the decision reflects the government’s strong resolve to protect students while maintaining uninterrupted access to education.

According to the ministry, the reopening follows a review of the security situation around the affected institutions and measures put in place to enhance the safety of students and staff.

The unity schools were shut down weeks ago after a series of student abductions in some states, a development that raised serious concerns about the safety of learners in public boarding schools.
