Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has officially welcomed the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, into the African Democratic Congress, describing his defection as a significant boost to the party.
Kwankwaso made this known in a statement shared on his X handle on Monday, where he commended Gwarzo’s decision to join the opposition coalition.
Gwarzo formally joined the ADC on Sunday during a well-attended event held in Gwarzo Town, which drew party supporters, political stakeholders, and loyalists, indicating strong grassroots backing for his move.
Reacting to the development, Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the impact of the defection, describing Gwarzo as an experienced political figure whose entry would strengthen the party’s structure in Kano and beyond.
“I heartily congratulate Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, on his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The grand reception held yesterday in Gwarzo Town has not only strengthened our ranks with his wealth of experience, but has also injected fresh energy and renewed enthusiasm into the party.
“Welcome home, Your Excellency, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo,” he said.
