Nigerian-British singer and songwriter Mark Yinka Orabiyi, popularly known by his stage name Talay Riley, has died after a fatal stabbing in East London.
The 35-year-old musician was attacked on Friday morning in the Silvertown area of the city, according to reports from local media.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Pankhurst Avenue at about 9 a.m. following reports of a stabbing. Despite efforts by paramedics to save him, Riley was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, but homicide detectives have commenced an investigation to determine what led to the killing and identify those responsible.
Riley was widely recognised within the British music industry as a talented singer, songwriter and producer, having worked with several high-profile artists during his career. His contributions to music earned him industry acclaim, including involvement in Grammy-winning projects.
