The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited recorded a profit after tax of ₦535 billion in June 2026, representing a 15.8 per cent increase from the ₦462 billion posted in May.
The figures were contained in the company’s June 2026 Monthly Financial and Operations Report, which also highlighted improvements in revenue generation, gas production and the progress of key pipeline infrastructure projects.
According to the report, NNPC generated total revenue of ₦4.389 billion during the month, while its cumulative statutory remittances to the Federation Account between January and June 2026 rose to ₦6.286 billion, reflecting the company’s continued contribution to government revenue.
Crude oil and condensate production, however, declined marginally to an average of 1.72 million barrels per day from 1.73 million barrels per day recorded in May.
NNPC attributed the slight drop in production to operational disruptions, facility integrity challenges and subsurface issues affecting several producing assets.
In contrast, natural gas production recorded a modest increase during the period, rising from 7.774 million standard cubic feet per day in May to 7.841 million standard cubic feet per day in June, representing a 0.86 per cent growth.
The company also reported significant progress on two of its flagship gas infrastructure projects.
The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline reached 98 per cent completion, with final tie-in activities currently underway ahead of the planned commencement of First Gas in August 2026.
Similarly, construction and installation work on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline advanced to 94 per cent completion, keeping the project on track for early gas delivery to Abuja later in 2026.
