NNPC Retail Limited has reacted to a viral video showing a pump attendant allegedly attempting to cheat a customer at one of its filling stations.

In a statement on Friday, the company said a thorough investigation traced the incident to a station in Ikorodu, Lagos.

NNPC Retail described the act as “unacceptable” and contrary to its values of integrity, transparency, and exceptional customer service.

As part of disciplinary measures, the company announced that the pump attendant had been dismissed, the station manager suspended, and the dealer issued a formal warning letter — all in line with its sanction grid.

The company thanked members of the public for their vigilance saying:

“NNPC Retail would like to thank the public for their vigilance and encourage the reporting of any incidents through the appropriate channels (customer service numbers and email displayed at all stations) for immediate action. The company assures all customers of its continued strict enforcement of compliance with its operational standards across its network of filling stations.”

NNPC Retail assured Nigerians of its firm commitment to enforcing strict compliance with operational standards across its network nationwide.
