Social media personality VeryDarkMan has accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of being politically aligned with the All Progressives Congress despite his emergence as governor on the platform of the Accord Party, following reports that he has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

VDM made the allegations in a video posted on his official Instagram handle on Thursday, where he pointed to Adeleke’s reported appointment as the Osun State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a group supporting Tinubu, as evidence of what he described as the governor’s longstanding allegiance to the ruling party.

Reacting to Adeleke’s reported support for Tinubu, VDM said, “Davido’s uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke finally came out to throw his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

He argued that Adeleke’s position within the movement could have implications for the outcome of the 2027 presidential election in Osun, alleging that the governor might manipulate the results in Tinubu’s favour regardless of how residents voted.

“Adeleke is now the coordinator for City Boy in Osun State, so basically what that means is that there is nothing that can happen to Osun State, even if Osun State people vote against tinubu, Ademola Adeleke is going to manipulate the numbers and make sure Tinubu wins,” he alleged.

The online personality also revisited the last Osun governorship election, during which Adeleke contested under the Accord Party against candidates of the APC and the African Democratic Congress. He claimed the political contest was different from how it was presented to the public, maintaining that the major actors were connected by interests within the ruling party.

“Going back to my old video, remember I said this man is an APC puppet, you see this election that happened in Osun State. If you remember Ademola Adeleke is candidate of Accord Party, then another candidate for APC and ADC, now you see that fight between Ademola Adeleke of Accord party and APC, it’s not what it seemed,” VDM said.

He continued, “It is the more you look the less you see, Ademola Adeleke has always been an APC, so that election was a primary election but to the general public it was a general gubernatorial election.”

VDM further alleged that Adeleke kept his supposed political alignment with the APC out of public view because of the potential impact it could have had on his electoral chances.

“The only reason he did not come out was because election was approaching and Nigerians will not vote for APC. That election in Osun was APC versus APC and Davido knew,” he claimed.

The social media personality also cited what he described as contacts between Adeleke and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, before and after the governorship election. He alleged that the interactions were linked to the governor’s relationship with President Tinubu.

“Another way you will know, it is because Wike had called Ademola Adeleke before the election, Wike also called him after the election to take his Certificate of Return to go and meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and thank him,” VDM said.

He also questioned the motives behind social media posts made by Davido during the election period, alleging that the singer was attempting to sway public opinion in support of his uncle.

“All those tweets Davido was making, he was trying to emotionally blackmail people in the state,” he added.
