The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inspected the newly constructed Tolu Schools Complex in the Ajegunle area ahead of its official commissioning.
Barring any last-minute changes, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to commission the 36 schools built under the Sanwo-Olu administration in the coming days.
The Tolu Schools Complex, located in the Ajegunle community, consists of 16 junior secondary schools, 15 senior secondary schools, and five primary schools, with a combined student population exceeding 20,000.
Situated on 11.73 hectares of land and bordered by a lagoon, the facility also features multiple sporting amenities, including a football field, basketball and volleyball courts, alongside other social infrastructure.
The complex is described as the largest school community in Africa.
Speaking during the inspection, which lasted over two hours, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and the provision of quality, affordable education for students across Lagos State.
Residents of Ajegunle turned out in large numbers to show appreciation for the project, while students who briefly interacted with the governor expressed gratitude for the new educational facilities.
