Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recovered a cache of weapons and explosives during an operation against suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group in Kebbi State.

According to a statement issued by the Nigerian Army, the operation was carried out on June 14, 2026, in the Dogon Daji area of Dandi Local Government Area.

The Army said troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their camp and retreat from the area.

During a follow-up operation along the escape route, soldiers recovered Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) launch tubes, RPG warheads, and several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Other items recovered included two motorcycles, battery chargers and personal belongings believed to belong to the fleeing suspects.

The statement, signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 8 Division Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, said no casualties were recorded among the troops.

The Army said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist and bandit activities across the North-West region.

It added that troops will continue operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and improving security in affected communities.
