Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has celebrated her birthday with a message of gratitude to God and a renewed commitment to impacting lives.

Akindele, in a post on her social media pages on Monday, thanked God for what she described as His faithfulness through different seasons of her life, including her successes, mistakes, and challenges.

“Today is my birthday. My heart is full of gratitude to God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all that is still to come,” she wrote.

Reflecting on her journey, the box-office queen noted that God has remained her strength and shield through every experience, adding that she has received the grace to learn and become better even when she fell short.

“Through every season, every lesson, every win, every mistake and every challenge, God has remained my strength and my shield,” Akindele said.

She added, “Even in moments when I have fallen short, He has given me the grace to rise, learn, keep going and become better.”

Speaking on her wishes as she marks another year, the multi-award-winning star revealed that her heart’s desire is centered on good health, long life, and continuing to walk in purpose.

“Today, my prayer is simple. That God blesses me with good health, long life, peace and the grace to keep walking in purpose,” she said.

Akindele also expressed her desire for her life and work to have an impact beyond herself, stating her commitment to opening doors for up-and-coming talent in the entertainment industry.

“I pray that my life continues to mean something beyond me. That I can touch more lives, open more doors, nurture more talents, raise more stars and give others the opportunity to become everything God has called them to be,” she wrote.

Reaffirming her pledge to give back, she shared her hope that her personal journey would serve as an inspiration to others striving for success.

“May I never stop giving back. May I never stop growing. May my life remain a testimony, and may the way I live inspire others to believe, to dream and to keep going,” Akindele said.

She concluded her birthday message with thanksgiving, writing, “Happy birthday to me.”

Born on August 24, 1977, the renowned filmmaker continues to be one of the most influential figures in the Nigerian film industry.
