The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has sacked the Director of Special Duties at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Horatius Egua, and approved the redeployment of several directors across key aviation agencies in a major restructuring of the sector.

Egua was directed to hand over all NCAA properties in his possession to the Director-General of the agency, Captain Chris Najomi. Augustina Erah was immediately appointed to replace him.

The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Yakubu Adam Kofarmata, who signed the official circular on behalf of the minister, stated that the sacking and redeployments take immediate effect.

The shakeup affects the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau.

According to the circular dated February 9, 2026, with reference number PS/FMA/PCA/S.31/T, several directors were reassigned across the agencies.

At NiMet, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Funke Arowojobe, was redeployed to the NSIB in the same capacity. The Director of Human Resource and Administration at NiMet, Dr. Nasiru Sani, was moved internally to serve as Director of Corporate Services.

The Director of Corporate Services at NiMet, Airohiuodion Omonzogie, was transferred to the NSIB to head corporate services at the bureau, while the Director of Corporate Services at NSIB, Baro Minabawarre, was redeployed to NiMet as Director of Human Resource and Administration.

Public affairs leadership at both agencies was also restructured. The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NSIB, Bimbo Oladeji, was moved to NiMet to head the same directorate.

In the finance directorate, the Director of Finance and Accounts at NAMA, Muonemeh Lotenna, was redeployed to NSIB, while the Director of Finance and Accounts at NSIB, Okundaye Folake, assumed the same role at NAMA.
